From July 26 to August 4, 2026, the Malecón in Santo Domingo will be transformed into a giant dance floor, filled with music and tradition, with the latest edition of the Merengue Festival, a vibrant celebration that pays tribute to the Dominican Republic’s national rhythm, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

For more than a week, locals and visitors alike immerse themselves in a festive experience that combines outdoor concerts, folkloric parades, traditional cuisine, and dance workshops, all in a warm setting filled with Caribbean energy.
