XXVII International Boleros de Oro 2025 Festival
From October 2 to 5, 2025 we will be celebrating the 38th edition of the Boleros de Oro International Festival in Havana, Cuba. This event will bring together the most outstanding Cuban singers, composers, researchers, artists and specialists and guests from other countries to become, once again, the great bolero festival.
This year, the festival will be dedicated to Mexico for its great influence in the promotion of the bolero at the continental and world level. In addition, several anniversaries of Cuban and Latin American composers and singers who have left an indelible mark on this emblematic genre of Latin American and Caribbean music, which was born in Cuba and spread to other countries around the world, will be commemorated. The recent declaration of the Bolero as Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO will also be highlighted. Tributes will be paid to relevant personalities from Cuba, Latin America and the Caribbean, whose talent and dedication have contributed to the enrichment of the genre.
The festival will include galas, concerts, peƱas and dances in emblematic venues such as the National Theater, the America Theater, the Casa Cultural del Alba, the Casa de la MĆŗsica at 31st and 2nd, and the SalĆ³n Rosado Benny MorĆ© at La Tropical, among others. The festival’s thematic chapters will deal with the bolero in different contexts and formats, such as danzĆ³n, bolero ranchero, tango, trios, bachata, bossa nova, charanga, bolero lĆrico, filin, bolero moruno and flamenco, and choral groups.
The Bolero Colloquium will be a theoretical event with the participation of the Musicology Section of UNEAC and other institutions of the Cuban Institute of Music, which will address issues related to research and promotion of the bolero in different countries. This festival promises to be a unique cultural experience that will celebrate the rich tradition of the bolero in a vibrant and welcoming environment.
During these days, Havana will be filled with music and culture, offering a unique opportunity to explore the city and immerse yourself in its festive atmosphere. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the magic of bolero in one of the most important festivals of the genre.
